Unit Secretary Med/Surg (PT, Days) Monterey Park Hospital

Overview: Monterey Park Hospital, located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is searching for a Unit Secretary for our Med/Surg Department.

This is a part time, day shift position.

Monterey Park Hospital is a 101 bed acute care community hospital.

Monterey Park Hospital has provided our community with advanced medical and culturally sensitive healthcare services for over 40 years.

This position reports to the Director of Med/Surg.

Responsibilities: The Unit Secretary position job responsibilities include but are not limited to, accurate transcribing of physician orders, maintain patient charts and medical records, provides general clerical duties for the units such as ordering supplies, filing, copying, and submitting maintenance requests, receives documents and properly follows through with telephone inquiries.

The Unit Secretary assists with monitoring all persons entering the unit.

This position provides administrative support to the nurses and physicians and effectively interacts with all persons entering the unit.

The Unit Secretary may occasionally float to various nursing departments.

Qualifications: High school or equivalent preferred.

Prefer one year unit secretary experience in an acute care hospital.

Current BLS required.
