Job Title: Uncle Sam’s Fireside Chat (USFC) Production Lead

Reports to: Director of Media, COO and CEO

Job Description: The Uncle Sam’s Fireside Chat (USFC) Production Lead will contribute to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by coordinating and delegating responsibilities between creative writing, video production, and historical accuracy teams for the ‘Uncle Sam’s FIreside Chat’ project.. This lead will specifically delegate tasks to the video production, creative writing and historical accuracy and research team leads and continually check on progress. They will provide guidance and support to these leads, ensuring they have the necessary resources and assistance to excel in their roles. The Uncle Sam’s Fireside Chat Production Lead will actively coach these leads, fostering their professional development and helping them navigate their responsibilities within the department. The Uncle Sam’s Fireside Chat (USFC) Production Lead is responsible for creating and maintaining a project schedule, doctoring and giving feedback on scripts to enhance narrative cohesion, ensuring that all aspects of the video align with the overall vision and goal of the project, and manage the overall creative development, production, and post production processes.

This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. The duration of this internship can be as short as a semester or as long as a year or more and can be extended. Preferably, this leader will commit to 6 months.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and delegate responsibilities between creative writing, video production, and historical accuracy teams

Create and maintain project schedule

Doctor and give feedback on scripts to enhance narrative cohesion

Ensure that all aspects of the video align with the overall vision and goal of the project

Manage creative development, production, and postproduction

Give and receive feedback to both creative teams and executive producers

Effectively communicate with other ONC team members (Slack, email, Zoom)
