Description:
• Follow Universal Protocol at all times to ensure correct patient, correct procedure, and
correct side
• Proficient in all ultrasound techniques and examinations, venous insufficiency exams,
venous mapping, rule out deep vein thrombosis, minor surgical procedures
• Knowledge of lower extremity superficial and deep venous anatomy and physiology
• Assist physician in such procedures as ultrasound guided sclerotherapy, venous
thermal and chemical ablations, maintains sterile technique
• Select and operate equipment as directed
• Prepare written documentation as required by the physician and the department, such
as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, pulling all
previous reports/images, and documenting patient progress and anatomy
• Strong work ethic, willingness to be part of the team, and positive attitude
*Knowledge of the arterial system preferred, but not required*
Qualifications:
• Course in ultrasound technology
• RVT, RVS certification or registry eligible
• RDMS accepted with the expectation of obtaining a vascular certification
• Current BLS – Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• Experience in vascular technology
• Sterile technique
• 1 year experience
• EVLT
• Clarivein
• Ultrasound Guidance Sclerotherapy
