The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software capability is seeking a Senior Front End/UI Software Engineer in El Segundo California, Huntington Beach, California, Annapolis Junction, Maryland, or Fairfax, Virginia.
The position will involve creating software for world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The selected candidate will work with the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of a future system. - Lead the development and design of Web based UI solutions to deliver an intuitive user experience
- Collaborate with users, technical, and architecture teams to solve complex user interface problems
- Rapidly prototype UI interfaces to iteratively work with users on UI design
- Advocate for modern designs and best practices that deliver value to our end users while considering ease of implementation and sustainment
- Understand the capabilities, complexity, and limitations of technical architecture throughout the UI Development process
- Provide critical support and independent review of the work of teammates
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Ability to obtain an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required) and ability to complete a CI (Counter Intelligence) polygraph after employment start
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
- 7+ years of experience designing and developing web based applications
- Experience with developing user interfaces
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle
- Experience with developing front-end programming languages
- Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as (or similar to) Git, JIRA, Collaborator, Beyond Compare, and VersionOne
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 9+ years of experience designing and developing web based UI applications
- Experience in Linux OS
- Active Top Secret/SCI with Poly Security Clearance
Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
