About the role.

What you need to know:.

As a Trial Attorney with Staff Counsel, you will provide legal advice and representation to AIG and/or the insured while minimizing legal and indemnity exposure.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:.

You have the option to work remotely in Southern California..

Litigation of General Liability cases from inception to resolution including trial..

Develop and execute trial and/or pre-trial strategy for most cost effective outcome..

Draft legal pleadings, perform research, and handle project work for the office..

Negotiate settlements..

Handling all aspects and phases of the file, including investigation, pleadings, discovery, depositions, working with experts, evaluation, motions, Mediations and trial..

Proactive file handling to minimize file duration, legal and indemnity expenses..

What we are looking for.

Juris Doctorate Degree Required
– Must be admitted and licensed to practice Law in California..

5 plus years of General Liability file handling.

Insurance defense and jury trial experience preferred..

Strong and effective oral and written communications skills..

Ability to interact effectively with clients, claims professionals and opposing counsel..

Knowledge of California statutes, rules of procedure, evidence and case law..

Ability to develop, manage and monitor pre-trial and trial strategies..
