Testing Engineer I, II, III, or Senior

Overview: Reports to: Domain Manager, Automation Engineering Functions Supervised: None Primary Functions: Leads the technical testing aspects of Product Development Teams by developing tests and applying automated testing technology to achieve strategic business outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:Leads the execution of test development features to support product development teams.Designs tests to satisfy technical and business requirements to support the development of fit for use and fit for purpose features.Architects tools/applications for test automation frameworks supporting automated testing using a combination of off-the shelf and custom solutions.Reviews and organizes detailed documentation and training collateral for automated testing framework and test suites.Manages the test lifecycle including development, process integration, continuous improvement, and modification of tests and test suites.Collaborates with domain members to establish test framework requirements, standards, and design principles.Engages domain experts across the organization to develop testing standards.Communicates with the business to build robust testing that allows product development teams to achieve business outcomes.Seeks out new technologies and methods and incorporates them into new test offerings.Perform other duties as assigned in support of team efforts and results.

Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a technical or scientific field, or equivalent work experience.

Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Equivalent technical education and/or related work experience.Experience/Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills.

At least ten years of professional experience in software or business application testing preferred.

At least ten years of experience with testing applications or programming preferred.

Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices and with Software Development Lifecycle.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline integration, Azure Devops, and TDD preferred.

Willingness to continuously learn new technical skills and solve complex problems.Tenure: Assignment to the Testing Engineer I category 10, Testing Engineer II category 9, Testing Engineer III category 8, Senior Testing Engineer category 7 will be determined by the candidate’s education and/or experience.

Advancement requires management recommendation and will be based on the candidate’s certification and/or performance.
