Paul, MN, currently has an opportunity for an experienced, high caliber Test Engineer II to support our Operations Process Development Group.

This role includes but not limited to, design and develop new software and hardware to test new products.

Investigates and resolves production problems involving test equipment software and hardware.

Applies engineering and scientific principles to evaluate and solve technical problems.

Identifies and uses the most effective and cost-efficient practices to achieve continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Develops hardware interfaces, including test points within design, and develops software to test design using Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) testers.

• Assists others in the design and development of interface hardware, probes, fixtures and circuit boards to test medical devices.

• Maintains existing software.

Installs changes as necessary to provide testing for updates to existing product designs.

Updates all documentation to support changes.

• Generates project plans and tracks progress against plan milestones.

• Uses engineering background to identify and resolve discrepancies between new design test requirements and test system capabilities using hardware or software designs.

• Coordinates transfer of device and test software into production and provides follow-up support to facilitate resolution of problems.

• Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

• Complies with U.S.

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
• Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering or related engineering field.

• Minimum of four years of progressively more responsible work experience in electrical test or test equipment design/development.

• Minimum of two years of experience programming in National Instruments’ LabVIEW language (CLAD and CLD certifications are desirable).

• Experience with developing test sequences using National Instruments’ TestStand is desirable.

• Familiarity with Python programming language is desirable.

• Familiarity or experience with Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) systems; expertise in one or more relevant specialties.

• Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

• Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

• Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

• Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

• Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

• Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

• Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
