Our location in St.

Paul, MN, currently has an opportunity for an experienced, high caliber Test Engineer I to support our Operations Process Development Group.

This role includes, but is not limited to, design and development of new software and hardware to test new products in a manufacturing environment.

Investigates and resolves production problems involving test equipment software and hardware.

Applies engineering and scientific principles to evaluate and solve technical problems.

Identifies and uses the most effective and cost-efficient practices to achieve continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Evaluates product components, subassemblies, and final assemblies to identify the complete set of test requirements necessary to ensure that all steps in the manufacturing process result in a functional, defect-free product.

• Develops ATE – Automated Test Equipment – to implement required testing.

This includes researching and selecting hardware and test instrumentation that is capable of performing measurements to the required accuracy and resolution.

• Develops custom software (e.g.

LabVIEW, TestStand, Python) to implement test requirements.

• Assists others in the design and development of interface hardware, probes, test fixtures and circuit boards.

• Maintains existing test software.

Installs changes as necessary to support updates to existing product designs.

Updates all documentation to support changes.

• Generates project plans and tracks progress against plan milestones.

• Uses engineering background to identify and resolve discrepancies between new design test requirements and test system capabilities.

• Coordinates transfer of device and test software into production and provides follow-up support to facilitate resolution of problems.

• Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

• Complies with U.S.

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
• Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering or related engineering field.

• Familiarity or experience with Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) systems.

• 0-2 years of experience in electronics testing and troubleshooting.

• 0-2 years of experience programming in National Instruments’ LabVIEW (CLAD and/or CLD certifications are a plus).

• Familiarity with Python programming language is desirable.

• Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

• Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

• Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

• Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

• Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

• Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

• Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
