Technical Writer – Temporary

Company Overview Teledyne Technologies Incorporated specializes in providing a broad range of high technology solutions and products to the marketplace.

Teledyne Imaging Sensors is an integral member of the new Digital Imaging Segment of Teledyne Technologies.

Imaging Sensors provides advanced imaging solutions for a variety of customers, including the DoD, NASA, prime system integrators, and commercial customers.

In the civilian space arena, Teledyne sensors are the most advanced sensors on board the Hubble space telescope, and they are also found on board the majority of NASA space probes and ground based telescopes.

In the DoD arena, Teledyne sensors are integrated into several major systems for persistent surveillance, chemical detection, and target identification, among others.

Position Summary and Responsibilities Position Summary: This temporary position will generate technical product documentation, including acceptance test plans, procedures, travelers, and work instructions.

This position requires concise, no-nonsense, grammatically correct writing as well as research, inter-departmental communication, and excellent organizational skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Create, revise and maintain technical documents to produce and test assemblies which conform to design and specifications Manage projects and execute to tight timelines while effectively communicating to and influencing stakeholders Maintain long-term authoring projects, while at the same time addressing a stream of real-time requests Interact with production and test personnel to ensure work instructions are accurate and comprehensible Interpret technical documents involving aerospace manufacturing, testing, assemblies, database systems, and processes Self-motivated to drive tasks to completion Qualifications Qualifications & Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies: Strong verbal, written (typing, spelling, grammar) and interpersonal communication skills.

Effective analytical, project management, organizational, and computer skills Ability to simplify technical or complex information into friendly, simple language.

Ability to create clear and engaging content for a variety of different formats.

Manage changing business requirements, projects, and resources, adapting as needed.

Experience with electronics manufacturing techniques and equipment for processes such as soldering, wirebonding, clean rooms, ESD sensitivity, inspection, etc.

Demonstrated experience with CAD and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) experience Ability to read and understand drawings and schematics Education and/or Experience Bachelor Degree in Technical Writing and Communication, or equivalent 1-2 years of experience in a technical writing position.
