Position: Jr. Systems Administrator

Type: Contract to hire

Rate: DOE

Location: Burbank CA

Modis Burbank is seeking Jr. Systems Administrator in Burbank, CA

Duties:

  • Responsible for ensuring continuity of computer services, applications, and systems
  • Maintain an inventory of all consumable equipment for printers
  • Maintain local and cloud backups of all computer services, applications, and systems
  • Set-up of new computers including adding all applicable programs and settings
  • Troubleshoot computer and network issues (Ubiquiti Unifi Dream Machine Pro and USG Pro Routers)
  • Support proprietary software (familiarity with Modbus protocol is a plus)
  • Provide support to end users both on-site and in the field via remote login/phone support (Teamviewer)
  • Assist in set-up and maintenance company network (firmware patches, monitoring, event log review)
  • Responsible for handling issues with cloud voice over-IP telephone systems (Jive/GotoConnect)
  • Maintain a clean and safe shop work environment
  • Be a self-starter and able to work independent of direct supervision (actively seek out end user issues and provide/develop solutions)
  • Proactive with regards to end-user support, VERY proactive.
  • Create and maintain documentation of systems and support log
  • Work in high voltage spaces and devices
  • Work with service providers and vendors when problems arise
  • Work with IT Manager on projects
  • Check daily with end users to see if everything is working properly
  •  

    The duties of this position may expand, and the employee may be required to perform additional duties related to this position.

     

    Required:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Five years of information technology experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Administration
  • Working knowledge of managing Active Directory (to include GPO management)
  • Monitor Backup Systems (Altaro, Synology Active Backup for Business, Active Backup for O365)
  • Windows Domain Setup and Management
  • Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Working Knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2016 and above
  • Knowledge Windows 10 Desktop Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of IP Networks (emphasis on Unifi Routers)
  • Understanding of computer/network security
  • Additional Requirements:

  • Pass random drug testing
  • Clean driving record
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language
  • Good understanding of current applications and trends in computer technology
  • Willing to take additional classes
  • Working Conditions:

    This job may require working evenings and weekends.
