Responsibilities

All employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision and values of the organization. The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost-effective manner. The Surgical Technician assists the Surgical Team in providing high quality health care to the patient that requires surgical intervention. He/she applies basic knowledge of aseptic technique, principles of sterilization and understanding of the purpose and use of instruments.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Requires a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years scrubbing experience in an acute care hospital.
  • Certification through NBSTSA or NCCT.
  • BLS Basic Life Support

  • Fire Safety Certification
  • Familiar with the different surgical equipment and instrumentation and its functions. Requires close concentration and high degree of accuracy and organization to prepare, set up and assists on surgical procedures.

Preferred

  • High school graduate
