A local Workers’ Compensation Defense Law Firm is seeking an experienced full-time Subrogation Secretary for its Los Angeles office to support two attorneys. Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in civil, personal injury and workers’ compensation would be a plus. Candidate must have good written and oral communication skills. Description: This position provides secretarial support for two attorneys within the Subrogation Department, utilizing knowledge of legal procedures and terminology. The person in this position will be responsible for preparation, review and processing of various legal pleadings and correspondence. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ” Screening attorney’s calls ” Maintaining up-to-date hard copy case files ” Determining dates upon which various pleadings must be served and filed, and ensuring service by those dates ” Knowledge of court rules, deadlines, calendaring and filing procedures, be experienced in the preparation of legal pleadings, discovery and court forms in preparation for trial. ” E-filing ” Excellent attentiveness to detail, typing and proofreading Additionally, the chosen candidate should possess these competencies and skills: ” Ability to adhere to law office procedures ” Ability to identify urgent tasks and to prioritize accordingly ” Able to practice appropriate office etiquette ” Ability to manage their time and multitask effectively ” Able to display problem-solving skills by developing methods or approaches to getting the work done ” Ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure ” Ability to adapt to new situations and changing priorities .
