Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead development of wireless technologies (BLE) for our next generation CGM transmitters Collaborate with teams across the company to strengthen the reliability of existing solutions Develop, maintain and utilize strong understanding of user and business impact of transmitter connectivity Optimize connectivity for usage with low end smartphones Pro-actively identify and mitigate risks and resolve road blockers Analyze and troubleshoot field and factory reported product defects Contribute to and review technical solutions for product improvements Work with partners to ensure design compatibility and system integration Represent needs of a specific product and create development backlog Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or Master’s degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 2-4 years of experience.
Successes with leading software projects from concepting to commercialization 8+ years of overall software engineering experience 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, including requirements analysis, feasibility studies, effort estimation and project dependency planning 3+ years of hands on experience with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) development and debugging at protocol stack level (GAP, GATT, ATT, L2CAP) Proficiency in using embedded software debugging tools and equipment C programming Excellent communicator both verbally and in written form High sense of accountability
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with low power microcontrollers in a battery powered system Power constrained embedded systems GCC toolchain and cross compilation from Windows/Linux for ARM targets
Functional Description:Technical Individual Contributor :
Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software.
Troubleshoots code for firmware (IC embedded code) applications.
Work often involves analog and digital hardware and software operating systems.
Position requires knowledge and exposure to hardware design.
Typically programs in machine language, assembly language and high-level languages (e.g., C, C++).
Functional/Business Knowledge:
Possesses advanced knowledge of technical principles and theories.
Recommends solutions in support of functional objectives tied to overall company objectives and strategies
Scope:
Demonstrates significant technical expertise, collaboration with others and independent thought.
Anticipates potential complex problems requiring an in-depth evaluation.
Demonstrates strategic thinking and commercial/industry understanding in functional projects.
Judgement:
Judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other colleagues
