Sr. Resident Security Lead

We’re looking for a Residential Security Team Leader to join our Global Security Protective Services Team in Los Angeles, CA 

What you’ll do:

  • Lead a comprehensive multi-property residential security program that provides a safe and secure environment for senior executives, family members, and guests

  • Monitor the daily performance of a 10+ member team of Residential Security Officers (RSOs); conduct frequent one on one meetings with RSO team members to assess their performance, provide feedback and mentorship, and develop them as future leaders

  • Supervise a 24/7/365 residential Command Post as the on-site leader.

    Monitor CCTV and security technologies, conduct access control procedures, receive and inspect deliveries; respond to security breaches, medical emergencies and other incidents, and perform and supervise additional duties to maintain 24-hour residential security

  • Create and continually update standard operating procedures, including incident and disaster planning and response.

    Conduct drills, maintain inventories and test equipment

  • Maintain detailed, accurate logs; create and maintain complex shift schedules and multiple electronic calendars

  • Track and manage official expenses and transaction reports for self and team

  • Communicate effectively and politely with household staff, contractors, vendors, event staff, and other stakeholders to ensure that security procedures are understood and followed in day-to-day residential activities and also integrated into the planning of special projects

  • Establish and maintain relationships with neighbors; liaise with law enforcement, and fire/emergency services 

  • Work directly with Protective Services detail leaders, security drivers and other team members to coordinate principal movements to/from residences

  • Coordinate operational training and development opportunities for RSO team members with internal and cross functional corporate partners

  • Report biweekly to the Director of Protective Services regarding daily operations, RSO staffing and performance and administrative requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • A strong understanding of residential security operations, executive protection and security technology

  • Skilled verbal and written communicator.

    Uses tact and diplomacy in all interactions and is comfortable interacting with team members, Global Security leadership, senior executives and VIPs

  • Proficient user of workplace information technology, including an understanding of Windows and iOS based computing in order to create and maintain documents, spreadsheets, slide presentations and other products

  • Possess strong judgment and acute attention to detail.

    Skilled in decision making, time management, and prioritizing

  • Ability to maintain focus on safety, customer service, prioritization, and constant learning

  • Skilled at interacting with others in a professional, polite manner with clients’ privacy and safety as priorities

  • Works well independently, but also in a team environment
    – flexible, resilient, and highly adaptable

  • Flexibility to work 12 hour shifts, including some weekends and holidays

  • Knowledge of basic first aid skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in residential or executive security, law enforcement or the military

  • A valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle

  • Must be able to pass a background and driving record check 

  • Valid California BSIS Guard Card

  • Valid California BSIS Firearms Permit

  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk frequently, and for long periods of time; ability to lift luggage, equipment and other heavy items

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience

  • Previous directly relevant experience managing a residential security team or corporate security operations center

  • Prior medical and trauma training and certified in Basic First Aid, TCCC, EMT or similar

  • Valid California CCW
