Northrop Grumman Space Systems sector, located in Redondo Beach, California, is seeking a motivated candidate to join the Electronics and Payloads Directorate as a Sr. Principal FPGA/ASIC Engineer. The qualified applicant will join the Digital Integrated Circuits and Electronics department that specializes in FPGA/ASIC for digital communication products for space applications. The selected candidate will be a pivotal part of the implementation of Digital Communication Designs for space applications.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • VHDL design of ASIC and/or FPGA logic, with an emphasis in Digital Signal Processing
  • FPGA/ASIC verification via simulation and emulation (lab testing), synthesis, timing analysis, and place and route for FPGA
  • FPGA design for Space environment or Space Application

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or another STEM Bachelor’s Degree with 9+; or STEM Master’s Degree with 7+ years of experience; or a STEM PhD. Degree with 4+ years of experience

– 3+ years of Digital Signal Processing design experience

– Well versed in VHDL design for an aerospace environment or space application

– Must have the ability to obtain and maintain an active Government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications: 

– Hands-on lab experience with testing of digital hardware is highly desired.

– 10 years of Digital Signal Processing design experience.
