Sr. LVN – Connie Frank Kidney Transplant Center

Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide age specific nursing care in the multi-specialty clinic. Major functionsare to collect health data, history information, medication reconciliation,take vital signs, start IV and obtain venous blood samples, process medicationprescriptions, administer medications and injections, prepare and assistprocedures, process instrument for sterilization.  You will also assist as assigned with patient educationon medication initiation and follow up, endoscopic procedures preparation andaudio-visual instructions, document patient information accurately and inaccordance with departmental and institutional guidelines, maintain a good patient flow through theclinic and provide continuity of care toassigned clinic/s.  

Qualifications

Required:

  • Possess license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners
  • Possession of CPR certification/BCLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Possession EKG, Phlebotomy and IV certification
  • Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuation workload and/or frequent interruption
  • Ability to respond and assist appropriately in emergency situations   
  • Ability to speak, understand, read and writeEnglish to convey information at all levels of understanding
  • Ability to maintain positiveworking relationship with all team members, patients, and families
  • Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to performphysical examinations and/or procedures
  • Ability to take vital signs, administer medications andobtain drug refills as needed
  • Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and reportto the physician
  • Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or lifethreatening medical problems
  • Interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative workingenvironment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers
  • Keyboard literacy skills to access and input data incomputerized logging systems
  • Demonstrated ability to be punctual and maintain goodattendance
  • Skill and knowledge to submit quality work in a timelymanner
