As a Sr.

Embedded Systems/Firmware Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing software/firmware solutions to help the company eliminate the strain on Earth’s resources for manufacturing.

You will lead, influence, and collaborate on safety critical software and firmware applications.

You will be expected to have a high level of ownership from end-to-end from concept to production.

Responsibilities:
Perform and lead the software and firmware development, testing, and implementation on flight computers, navigation sensors, and other remote hardware.
Develop algorithms capable of meeting and exceeding safety requirements.
Ensure system quality and performance through rigorous testing, verification and validation (V&V) for safety critical environments.
Collaborate with other engineers and apply critical thinking
Partner with hardware teams and software to develop requirements needed to meet the needs of our space capabilities

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience developing embedded firmware in C or C++
Fluency in C programming, including knowledge of object files, linker, preprocessor, and various cross compilers
Experience with networked distributed systems and concurrency
Low level knowledge of microcontrollers (bus architecture, clock trees, power management, DMA, registers, timers)
Experience with version control such as Git
Strong working knowledge of python
Experience designing high reliability or safety critical systems
Experience designing unit tests, automated hardware tests, and integration tests
Experience with one or more real time operating systems
Comfortable with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, communications protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI)
Strong electrical fundamentals and ability to read schematics, datasheets and dense documentation

Preferred Skills and Requirements:
Proven design of working mixed signal electrical systems
Experience with aerospace communication technologies such as CCSDS telemetry and telecommands, CANaerospace, SpaceWire
Knowledge of bootloaders, packet formats and low level bit wrangling

Logistical Requirements:
Must be a U.S.

citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or be granted status as a “protected person” under 8 U.S.C.

1324b(a)(3).
This role will be located in Los Angeles, CA.
