Business Analyst
– IT Finance Data Steward is a multidimensional position covering digital transformation, people, processes, and strategies for the Corporate Solutions and Integration (CSI) team.

CSI serves as the strategic IT partner for Corporate functions, and enables a data-driven culture by facilitating data harmonization, master data management, and data catalog efforts for Finance data on the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP).

The candidate ensures data-related technical design, policies, procedures, and processes are in place to address complex business needs.**Key Responsibilities:**+ Work with business partners to implement data governance decisions, standards, and policies by translating functional requirements, building the data catalog, mapping and maintaining the data lineage to ensure data quality, developing data process diagrams, and writing queries, scripts, specifications, and documentation.+ Serve as liaison between Finance and IT; work closely with both teams to plan and implement data management processes and solutions, and to ensure the success of a comprehensive data strategy.+ Establish guidelines and best practices regarding how data is displayed and utilized.+ Ensure controls for data integrity are in place in data harmonization/data catalog tools, perform data integrity gap analysis.+ Support data audits as needed.+ Coordinate the resolution of data integrity gaps by working with business partners and IT.+ Support the Finance Organization and Business Intelligence teams by helping to define and document data definitions as they perform their work in implementing the business access and reporting around that data+ Manage user roles, access levels, and data propagation as needed.**Requirements/Qualifications:**+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Finance or equivalent with 5+ years of business analysis, systems analysis, data analysis or related IT experience and a strong understanding of technical, finance/accounting, and operational process requirements.+ Experience with designing and maintaining a business data catalog, using tools such as Alation, Informatica, Azure or Collibra.+ Experience around defining and managing data related processes.+ Demonstrated understanding of overall data models, data relationships, mapping lineage, and business rules.+ Experience with machine learning and AI solutions for data management is a plus+ Experience with common industry tools for business partner identification, such as Dun & Bradstreet.+ Knowledge of Redshift, Databricks, PowerBI.+ Experience with SAP/Oracle ERP systems, IT infrastructure, IT application technologies, frameworks and data management, and cloud-based applications, data, security and integration including data engineering, data warehouse and business intelligence solutions, preferred.+ Hands-on experience on the execution of Agile/SCRUM processes and repeatable, predictable, and high-quality delivery of software solutions.+ Strong verbal, written and facilitation skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups, executives, managers, and subject matter experts in global remote teams+ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, JIRA, Confluence+ Strong client service orientationAt Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 70,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
