our evolving and growing technical stack. As a Senior Backend Engineer you work in a
fast moving environment and need t o be constantly looking f or ways t o improve our
systems. As part of t his job you will help t rain and guide other team members. To excel
in t his position you will need experience building products across t he stack and a firm
understanding of web frameworks, APIs, databases, and multiple programming
languages including Python and PHP. You are part of a cross-functional team solving
the challenges t hat impact both t he front end and back end architecture.

Job Details
Objectives
● Work across t he full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions t hat
enable positive user experiences
● Develop new features and infrastructure development in support of rapidly
emerging business and project requirements
● Assume leadership of projects f rom conceptualization t o deployment
● Test software t o ensure responsiveness and efficiency
● Work closely with other engineers t o produce performant and scalable
solutions.
● Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high
standards of code quality and thoughtful application design
● Work with development methodologies, adhering t o best practices
Responsibilities
● Participate i n all aspects of software development including design,
implementation, and deployment
● Architect and provide guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized f or
speed and scale
● Work primarily in PHP, Python, and JavaScript
● Code review and guidance f or best practices, f unctionality and quality
assurance
● Lead end t o end projects with other team members and 3rd party vendors
● Engage with designers and other engineers, and collaborate t o create best
in class user experiences
● Collaborate across time zones via chat client, email, GitHub comments, and
frequent video conferences
● Communicate clearly t o various stakeholders, ensuring t hat problems are
being addressed efficiently and business needs are being met in a timely
and satisfactory fashion
● Provide l eadership i n mentorship f or other t eam members
Required Skills and Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree i n computer science, i nformation t echnology, or
engineering or equivalent experience in t he engineering field
● Experience building web applications
● Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs
● Knowledge of PHP, Python, and Javascript Frameworks
● Excellent debugging and optimization skills
● Experience with retail technologies – ecommerce, POS, Supply Chain
Systems i s a plus
● Unit/integration testing experience
