Get ready to pack your bagsLiving Sport’s Summer Camp was created to give passionate sport professionals, recent graduates, and current students an edge over the thousands of job seekers looking to score a gig in sports.
Stemming from the popularity of edutainment experiences, Living Sport gives aspiring professionals the chance to receive work experience and explore the world through sport.Our Summer Camp led by industry professionals (camp counselors) who have immense experience in the sport industry and mentoring young professionals.
Program participants will interact with sports business professionals creating a lasting network that extends far beyond the program.PROGRAM OVERVIEW:SHORT-TERM PROGRAM WITH BIG RESULTS:We currently have 3 program options.
One full 17-day Camp and two 7-8 day camps.
Full Program will have approximately 7-10 working days.
While the Mini-Program option will receive 4-5 working days.
This mini-program extends 5 days and includes workshop & networking session to make the most of your time traveling with our team.
Our short-term program was designed this way for a purpose.
We believe it gives us enough time to accomplish what we set out to do, and creates a cost-effective program allowing all deserving participants to get involved.PLACEMENT WORKING DIRECTLY WITH A MAJOR SPORTS EVENT:Secure a spot to take part in the behind the scenes work that comes along with hosting The World Games.
The World Games is an 11-day international multi-sport event organized with the support of the International Olympic Committee.
Held the year following the Summer Olympic Games, The World Games 2022 will showcase a New Generation of Global Sports in Birmingham from July 7-17, 2022.
An anticipated 3,600 elite athletes from over 100 countries will compete for gold in 34 of the fastest growing sports in the world.
This position will place you in the action as you work events associated with the 34 different sports.
These experiences are filled with event management, fan experiences, concerts and events, and more The Living Sport team will work alongside the staff as we learn what it takes to work on your toes in the sport industry Are you ready for the south?EXPLORE LOCAL SPORTS TEAMS & ATTRACTIONS:Our program includes studying and touring the local area sports teams and meeting with sport business executives in the local New Orleans market.Included in Itinerary: Rocket City Trash Pandas (Double-A Affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels) Birmingham Squadron (G-League of New Orleans Pelicans) Birmingham Barons (Double-A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox) And more SKILLS WORKSHOPS LED BY INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS:All group tours will be led by sport industry professionals.
This allows us to conduct Skills Workshop sessions lead by executives that have years of experience and are willing to pass their knowledge along to you.
During the Skills Workshop session, we will direct you on how to best list this experience on your resume, tips for an effective interview, best practices for a career in sports, etc.
Having direct access to professionals gives you the chance to ask questions and develop a relationship with them all program-long.SPORT INDUSTRY NETWORKING:Networking is a key aspect of any business, but it especially stands true for the sport industry.
During this program you will meet industry professionals and fellow participants that are the future of sport business.
This is a true networking opportunity for you and a way to form important business relationships.
A goal of the program, just like a sports team, is to create a comradery between participants and mentors, thus building lasting relationships far beyond this adventure.WHATS INCLUDED: Full-day career building workshop session with local sport business industry professionals Opening session group welcome dinner will be provided Placement on the World Games Team (Volunteer Opportunity)
– Must pass a background check to be eligible A Living Sport swag bag for joining the team A strong network of sport business peers from around the USA Future sport business and travel opportunities as part of the Living Sport Alumni Network Complete itinerary is shared once accepted into the program WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED: Mini-Program does not include lodging accommodations: Program participants will book their own hotel.

All three options do not include flight costs: Flight costs will be quoted separately or can be booked on your own.

The cost associated with the Sport Business Program can be funded in numerous ways.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Outstanding personality and work ethic Must possess team player mentality, and must work well in groups Must be willing to work extended hours (outdoors) during the 3-day event Must be able to lift (30 to 50 lbs.) during event setup and event breakdown Education and Experience: Must be 18 years of age or older Must possess a college degree or be a current student working toward a degree Past experience working events is preferred A passion to work large sporting events Ability to work independent in a fast-paced environment
