In this vital role you will report directly to the Sr.
Manager and will sit on the Amgen Rhode Island Pilot Plant Leadership Team.
The Pilot Plants capabilities include a mix of Single Use and Stainless Steel bioreactors up to 500L scale and full purification to generate drug substance for non-GMP use.
The equipment is highly automated via Delta V distributed control system and GE Unicorn execution software.
Operations are driven by Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and data recorded in electronic batch records.
Shift: Admin hours Implement a variety of production-related operations, including hands on operational execution Lead new product introductions Lead investigations Conduct business performance meetings Implementation of new technology and equipment Continuously seeking to implement LEAN concepts for the improvement of efficiency and productivity as well as ensuring data integrity Lead all aspects of production planning and execution to support pipeline development runs for material and data generation Life cycle management to support commercial process optimization and tech transfer of new programs being introduced into Amgen Rhode Islands Commercial Manufacturing Facilities (AR-5 and AR-30) Win What we expect of you We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients.
The ideal professional we seek is a leader with these qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree OR Masters degree and 3 years of Manufacturing or Operations experience OR Bachelors degree and 5 years of Manufacturing or Operations experience Or Associates degree and 10 years of Manufacturing or Operations experience or High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Manufacturing or Operations experience Preferred Qualifications Previous managerial experience directly managing people and/or experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources Proven knowledge of upstream and/or downstream, as well as a general knowledge of the associated analytical, and solution preparation techniques (media and buffer) Energetic and technically-minded, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and applications, and various new technologies Work effectively in team and/or project environments, with previous experience in leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources Strong math and computer skills and the ability to apply science-based thinking to practical applications Bachelors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical/Biological Engineering, or proven experience in a related Life Sciences field Thrive Some of the vast rewards of working here As we work to develop treatments that take care of others, so we work to care for our teammates professional and personal growth and well-being.
