Space Planning Coordinator
Apply Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Scienced Los Angeles, California

The Architectural Services office within the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Science is seeking a Space Planning Coordinator to join its team.

Reporting to the Program Director, the candidate would be working on special projects that assist with the current management and long term planning of the Dornsife space portfolio. 

Job responsibilities would include:
Provide high quality and effective project management, analytic support, and technical expertise on multi-faceted projects; Serve as the project’s resource and liaison to university faculty and staff; Assist in collecting and managing the college’s real estate data, including space portfolio metrics, asset management, and business continuity requirements; and Prepare formal reports and analysis on current projects, including space and equipment inventory, occupancy, and vacancy.

Projects assigned can be broad in scope and may span across multiple service areas.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple projects at varying scales and timelines, is detail oriented, and has exceptional organizational and communication skills.

The candidate should be pro-active, willing to get involved, and provide support as needed.

Experience with real estate/facilities management software a plus.

This is a one year fixed term position.

Minimum Education:Bachelor’s degreeCombined experience/education as substitute for minimum educationMinimum Experience:3 yearsCombined education/experience as substitute for minimum experienceMinimum Field of Expertise:Experience in space planning, architecture, interior design, or related fields.

Knowledge ofcomputer-aided facility management (CAFM) systems and space databases.

Familiaritywith Basis of Design, building, ADA, and Fire, Life, and Safety codes.

Demonstratedanalytical, critical-thinking, research, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to interpret, analyze,and apply pertinent policies, procedures, regulations, and requirements.

Demonstratedassessment, interpersonal, networking, and oral and written communication skills.Experience in a leadership and/or guidance role, with demonstrated networking,organizational, scheduling, and planning skills.Preferred Education:Bachelor’s degreePreferred Experience:5 yearsPreferred Field of Expertise:Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, or related fields.

Four years’ experiencein space planning or relevant industries.

Support services experience in architecture,engineering, construction management, design, and/or higher education.

Demonstratedexperience with computer-aided facility management (CAFM) systems, and spacedatabases.

Knowledge of with Basis of Design, building, ADA, and Fire, Life, and Safetycodes.
