Sonographer (PD)

Overview: Demonstrates skill and knowledge in the use of all ultrasound equipment.

Demonstrates technical proficiency in producing diagnostic ultrasound scans.

Examines requisitions for appropriate procedural information to include physician order, history, procedure.

Responsibilities: Demonstrates competency in working with patient populations in all age groups.

Communicates with nursing staff regarding patient’s condition as needed before and after examination.

Schedules appropriate amount of time for each patient procedure to ensure a timely service.

Qualifications: Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographer.

Current Basis Life Support Certificate (BLS).

2 years acute care experience in the performance of all Ultrasound procedures preferred.
