Solution Development Leader Aon Growth Ventures

Aon Growth Ventures (AGV) leads Aons Innovation at Scale strategy by addressing the global macroeconomic trends impacting clients for which few, if any, insurance, and risk management solutions are effectively in market. AGV identifies the trend and creates a Solution roadmap to address the unmet client need. Each area of investment (Growth Accelerator) is led by a designated leader who is responsible for the vision and strategy of their team. In this role, the Strategic Solutions Leader will partner with Growth Accelerator Leaders to help accelerate the development of early-stage solutions and will be responsible for overseeing the governance and disciplined approach to product development. This leader will lead the team of colleagues who identify, test, and launch new Solutions in the market.

What the day will look like

  • Lead an Agile team of Product Owners to evaluate, test and build minimum viable products across Aons Growth Accelerators
  • Connect Growth Accelerator leaders and Product Owners to resources within Aon at large where those resources are relevant to the success of Solutions
  • Partner with Growth Accelerator Leaders and the Strategy team to define and translate growth strategies into solution development priorities
  • Find opportunities for improvement in potential Solutions and address those opportunities with Product Owners
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of product development priorities and ongoing initiatives
  • Partner with Growth Accelerator Leaders and the Strategy team to develop and execute an annual product development roadmap
  • Collaborate with digital solutions colleagues to ensure technology is considered as a fundamental aspect of each Solution
  • Lead Strategic Solution teams resourcing and capacity planning
  • Oversee and institute Strategic Solutions performance tracking, including results reporting based on innovation metrics and KPIs shared in Monthly Scorecard meetings
  • Pioneer new thinking, tools and techniques to enable Aon to deliver higher value, scalable client solutions
  • Recruit, engage and develop key talent
  • Get results based on innovation metrics

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Management or other qualified subject areas
  • 12-15 years of relevant work experience with a track record of role success, growing levels of responsibility, and excellence in leadership
  • Consistent track record of business development and growing revenues
  • Extensive experience leading project opportunities
  • Achieved success in consulting/advisory to partners and leading teams to deliver projects and meet timeline requirements
  • Project management skills, a desire and skill to work efficiently in an Agile environment, and enthusiasm to building and leading a team. Ability to perform well on multiple work streams within timelines.
  • Strong ability to think on the fly define and build strategy
  • Proficiency using Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Attention to detail and critical eye in leading aspects of work by Product Owners/Managers and supporting teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Open to travel (typically less than 20%) and work internationally
