The Position: The Senior Underwriter, Financial Services is responsible for the submission generation, underwriting and policy issuance of Directors and Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, General Partnership Liability, Bankers Professional Liability, Insurance Company Professional Liability, Fiduciary Liability, and Fidelity insurance for entities that meet the Financial Services account definition within the West Region.The Financial Services department works with private and public companies, including many Fortune 500 firms.
Accounts include the following subcategories:Commercial BanksInvestment BanksInsurance / Reinsurance CompaniesHedge FundsPrivate Equity FundsVenture Capital FundsReal Estate FundsMutual FundsRegistered Investment AdvisersExchanges Job Responsibilities: Underwrite and price products, to include financial and exposure analysisAttendance at meetings with outside company managementPolicy contract review and ratingClaims reviewBinding of new and renewal accounts according to our underwriting philosophy and strategyService brokers and customersCoaching and developing the more junior underwriters in the region Required Skills/Experience: 2 to 4years of D/E insurance underwriting, preferably in the Financial Services segment Desired Skills/Experience: Exemplary oral and written communication skillsAnalytical, with a keen ability to think through issuesSolid understanding of financial statementsStrong customer-service focusAble to organize and prioritize to meet multiple demands and commitmentsStrong work ethicTeam playerEffective negotiation skillsProficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook Education: Bachelors Degree, ideally in Economics, Business, Finance or AccountingRPLU or CPCU designation preferred The Company: Arch Insurance is a global insurer offering our clients superior coverage and service.
