Senior Test Engineer

Stirling Ultracold, a BioLife Solutions company https://www.stirlingultracold.com/ Summary: Senior Test Engineer is responsible for defining and implementing the tests and test systems that ensure the quality and the functionality of final products and their subsystems.

They are involved in all phases of the testing process including identifying test parameters, determining test methods, designing test systems, programming test software, troubleshooting errors, analyzing test data and writing test procedures.

Responsibilities Lead test system activities for the company’s existing products, new products and product enhancements.

Oversee maintenance activities for existing test systems.

Work with Product Development, Quality and Process Engineering to ensure test requirements are clearly understood.

Create written test requirements, test plans and test cases for products and subsystems.

Work independently, with small teams or outside resources to implement the test system hardware and software.

Manage test system projects.

Direct internal and external resources to ensure the complete, accurate and timely release of test system deliverables.

Troubleshoot errors and streamline test equipment and procedures.

Conduct capability studies of the new test systems.

Write final test procedures for the quality technicians.

Train the quality assurance staff and provide technical support when needed.

Ensure all tests and procedures meet company requirements and industry standards.

Prepare test reports for management.

Report to the Electrical Engineering Manager.

Master and improve department policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience Direct experience in the automated testing or design of electromechanical systems.

Preferred experience testing appliances, motors or refrigeration equipment.

Direct experience in instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis.

Preferred experience in test methods and quality assurance techniques.

Preferred experience with LabView, TestStand and MATLAB.

Preferred experience related to process automation with PLCs.

Excellent documentation and organizational skills.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.

Experience managing projects.

Qualifications BS degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.

5 years’ experience, with expanding responsibility, in similar roles.

Proven analytical and reasoning skills Ability to work in the manufacturing plant in Athens, OH.

Hands on attitude, comfortable working in a dynamic, small team environment.
