Senior Systems Administrator

Type: Direct Hire / Permanent – W2 Only Location: Atlanta/Marietta, GA (Person will work mostly remote except for occasional instances when needed in the office, about 1-2 times a month) We are currently looking for a talented Senior Systems Administrator, skilled in both Linux and Windows administration, to join our client’s infrastructure team based in Marietta, GA.

This is a permanent, direct hire opening with our client.

Along with providing Linux & Windows systems administration, you will also be involved in DevOps and Cloud work.

This person will help deploy / configure / troubleshoot applications, as well as work with Azure & Azure VMs.

What you’ll be doing: Administer the Linux and Windows infrastructure environment.

You will work in a hybrid cloud environment.

Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including Linux and Windows servers, systems, security tools, applications, desktops, and laptops.

Diagnose and repair hardware, operating system, and software issues; perform Windows and Active Directory administration tasks, including user/group administration, group policies, network install and patch management, security permissions on files and users.

Assist users with problems with laptop or other hardware problems, Windows, Active Directory, and other software.

Provision and maintain virtual machines using VMware ESX.

Provision and manage Azure VM’s, application servers, and databases.

Manage host servers.

Maintain and enhance web servers using nginx.

Configure and maintain databases using MongoDB, MariaDB, and MS SQL Server.

Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot applications (written in Java/Spring Boot, PHP/Laravel, and JavaScript using Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Bitbucket, and other systems).

Configure and maintain logging services (using Graylog).

Create and maintain documentation of systems processes, automate tasks, and recommend new hardware and software solutions.

Experience you’ll need to bring with you: 3 to 5 years of Systems Administration experience.

Experience administering both Linux (Ubuntu preferably) and Windows systems and servers.

Experience setting up VMs.

Working knowledge of VMware.

Active Directory and Exchange experience.

Experience with LDAP and DNS.

SQL and NoSQL Database experience (SQL Server, MongoDB, MariaDB).

Experience being able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to develop creative solutions to business problems.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Detail oriented and a good problem-solver.

Bonus points for: Any DevOps experience, such as deploying applications and Containers/Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Experience with Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GPC.

REST APIs knowledge and experience.

Application Security experience.

Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams.

Pay: A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is $100,000 – $105,000 per year.

The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
