Senior Statistician

UCLA Health

This is a Contract position in Los Angeles, CA posted February 20, 2021.

Responsibilities

In theUCLA Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Division of Digestive Diseases, a SeniorStatistician will participate in health services, quality improvement,clinical, and translational research across gastrointestinal diseases. Inthis role, you will collect and analyze data from multiple sources, includingbut not limited to electronic health record data, questionnaires data, andanthropometric data. Help collect, clean and prepare data for analysis,identify missing data, identify and resolve problems or potential issues,present results to Principal Investigator and team researchers, and helpprepare data for presentations, abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.

Qualifications

Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Health Services, Public Health, Public Policy, Biostatistics Epidemiology or a related field and three years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of study design.
Ability to conceptualize desired tables and graphs and crate them from raw data.
Demonstrated ability to use Windows-based computing systems in a network environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.                                             
Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Excel, SAS and/or STATA (statistical software), which includes data access, data retrieval, data management, data analysis.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and coordinate activities with competing deadlines.
Great attention to detail, strong analytical skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and ability to deliver reports in a timely manner. 
Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and communication skills necessary to interact with investigators, research and administrative staff.
