The Boeing Defense, Space and Security, (BDS) Space and Launch Division is seeking a Senior Propulsion Engineer to provide support multiple satellite product lines, CCTS Starliner, SLS rocket, and other spacecraft, located in El Segundo, CA .
This position would entail operating as the propulsion & Pumped Fluid Loop (PFL) responsible engineering authority (REA) for one or more satellite systems components.

Responsibilities would include: Requirements decomposition, verification and validation, component analysis, component test, non-conformance management, root cause and corrective action investigation, and supplier technical interface.

Technologies involved in the position will include some combination of liquid propulsion, electric propulsion, pumped fluid thermal control systems and associated liquid and gas plumbing.

Position Responsibilities:
Defines requirements for propulsion components, auxiliary power systems and vehicle fuel and tank systems
Coordinated technical interfaces with component suppliers
Develops component specifications and validates requirement compliance
Define and review various testing, analysis, modeling and simulation efforts to prove component requirement compliance
Defines and oversees supplier certification tests for components
Supports fielded components to assure continued reliability
Coordinate non-conformances between supplier, internal and external customers
Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations on component non-conformances
Act as technical subject matter expert on assigned components and associated technologies
Develops concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S.

Security Clearance for which the U.S.

Government requires U.S.

Citizenship.

An interim and/or final U.S.

Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
7+ years of experience in propulsion or pumped fluid engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
A successfully completed Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government is preferred
Experience with Space based propulsion, pressure regulators, fluid systems and/or electric propulsion
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.

Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.

PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
