We are seeking a Senior Planner in our Kalamazoo, MI location.

Responsibilities: Oversees research on issues, policies, and concepts pertaining to planning and environmental planning.

Leads tasks related to preparing and producing technical plans, studies, written reports, and environmental documents.

Directs teams for small or medium sized tasks for projects.

Writes and leads production of plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents for transportation and transit projects.

Develops planning and analysis strategies using tools, such as GIS, to manipulate data, assess scenarios, and perform project analysis.

Performs project coordination with all departments within the organization.

Understands local, regional, state and federal zoning regulatory processes.

Preforms master planning, land use studies, zoning ordinance preparation and interpretation, community and public process planning.

Assists clients regarding policy and physical planning process and public hearings.

Performs planning activities and work with other staff to move projects toward final design and construction phases.

Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating project assignments.

Leads and manages projects concerning master land use planning, design, and regulations for each project.

Works with municipal officials throughout the project process.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or Architecture.

Master’s degree preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: American Institute of Certified Planner Certification (AICP) preferred.

Work Experience/Qualifications: 10 Years.

Experience with governmental agencies.

Possesses strong oral presentation, writing skills, research skills, computer proficient.
