Join our fast-paced and prestigious Performance Optimization Team Our Performance Optimization Team is a group of data scientists and analysts who develop measurement strategies and work with software and networking engineers to characterize the performance of Akamai’s most impactful products and services.

We use data driven approach to identify opportunities in our software and networking infrastructures to improve the competitive performance and reliability of our key product lines.

Partner with the best As a Senior Performance Engineer, you’ll apply technical skills to diagnose and solve some of the Internet’s most difficult content delivery challenges.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to devise and implement control strategies and changes that optimize performance on our global services.

You’ll define, implement, and mine data feeds that influence company decision-making at the highest levels.

As a Senior Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for: Learning about the complex control system that operates over a global scale networking infrastructure in real time, and manage it to optimize the experience of Internet end-users around the globe Applying your analytical and coding skills to make sense of data that can be distilled to determine quality of our control system Solving difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed to improve the quality and reliability of the control system Developing tool support to visualize those complex data sets Working with a variety of teams around the business to help set and deliver performance expectations Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: Have 5 years of relevant experience and a bachelors degree in computer science or its equivalent Demonstrate knowledge in computer networking and internet protocols Possess experience with statistics and data analysis Have experience with coding in one of the coding or scripting languages (python, perl, C/C++, Java, etc.) Possess good communication, presentation and written skills to effectively work in a multi-team and cross-organizational environment Work in a way that works for you We recognize that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best can vary for each person.

This is a flexible role and may be performed at your home and/or the local Akamai office (in the country advertised).
