Find your future with us.Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Senior Payloads Systems Design Engineer to join their team in Long Beach, CA, Mesa, AZ, Oklahoma City, OK, or San Antonio, TX. Spares Engineering Design provides design engineering support, providing engineering solutions for obsolescent parts.Position Responsibilities:Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system designCoordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product’s environmentGuides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performanceDevelops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specificationsDefines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfiedSupports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.Works under general directionDAE: Complete DCCS major/minor determination (Design Change Classification System)Responsible for ELR (Engineering Liaison Request)CSDT (Customer & Supplier Data Transmittal)Support Drawing Release: Coordinating with Approval Groups supporting other sites likeBIETC (Boeing India Engineering Technology Center)Drawing Review (DE)This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or chemistry or other technical degree5+ years of experience as a Payloads Systems Design Engineer5+ years of experience in a military or commercial aircraft environment2D & 3D design with some knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, GD& TExperience in design release processes, policies and procedures, handling tooling issues, supplier driven changesPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):7+ years of Design Engineering experience in commercial aircraft environment5+ years of experience in Production, Sub-Components or Spares1+ year of experience leading engineering teamsTypical Education & Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
