Primary Purpose Responsible for identifying, analyzing and recommending business issues applicable to the Gas Scheduling group.
Solve issues with practical and sustainable solutions.
Oversees the development of new services as a result of regulatory/legal decisions affecting gas operations.
Manages business requirements and serves as a key point of contact for expertise on gas scheduling application and processes.
Provide training to new Gas Schedulers and assist in on-call scheduling rotation.
Responsibilities/Duties * Identifies, analyzes and recommends various issues related to the Gas Scheduling group.* Manages mission-critical system application for successful daily gas scheduling operations.
Handles various projects, as assigned.* Develops and manages business requirements and directs IT on new business rules and requirements.* Manages coordination and prioritizing for scheduling of system enhancements and provides guidance to IT for successful business objectives.* Ensures gas scheduling systems are in compliance with accounting guidelines, business controls, SOX protocols, affiliate rules, merger remedial measures , and NAESB.
Ensures reliable and quality gas system application once enhancements have been made and tested.* Provides training to Gas Schedulers and provides on-call scheduling backup support.
Conducts gas scheduling training sessions for SoCalGas and SDGE customers.* Analyzes and identifies customer needs to resolve and ensure customer satisfaction for gas scheduling application.
Analyzes regulatory and legal decisions affecting transportation of gas supplies for SoCalGas and SDG&E and develops business requirements for gas scheduling application affecting Gas Scheduling and Gas Control.* Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).Education * Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, Computer Engineering, or related field of study.Experience * 8 years of Gas Scheduling, Gas Trading, or related field of experience required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills* Demonstrated mathematical, organizational writing skills* Strong teambuilding skills* Full understanding of gas scheduling computer systems.* Strong knowledge of transportation issues affecting interstate and intrastate transportation* Must be knowledgeable in applicable tariffs and regulatory decisions affecting transportation* Demonstrated understanding of gas flow dynamics* Ability to work under extreme time constraints and meet critical deadlines* Strong verbal and interpersonal skills* Ability to communicate complicated issues to technical and non-technical audience* Act independently with little supervision* Flexible and adaptable.* This job may require backup for the Gas Scheduling Analyst and necessitate working weekends and being on call for natural gas scheduling in accordance with North American Energy Standards Board.Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
