We have an amazing opportunity for someone to join the leading Health Media Practice at Edelman SF.
The ideal person will be interested in health with a focus spanning across pharmatech, wellness, and medicine.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate tactical proficiency in media relations, including creating and driving both traditional and social media outreach plans, as well as proactively pitching media outlets on an ongoing basis Demonstrate ability to lead day to day media/account work and supervise projects junior team members, manage up, and proactively lead daily program pieces independently with little oversight Serve as client’s daily media contact and act as overarching client lead when appropriate; address client issues thoughtfully and effectively Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications content by overseeing projects with internal specialty groups and external agencies Build relationships with third-party influencers and internal business partners to meet client needs Showcase a network of influencers, and an ability to maintain and develop key media contacts; experience pitching stories to national and local print, online, television and radio media Contribute to business growth through introducing clients to new capabilities, building network of industry contacts and participating in relevant professional organizations
Basic Qualifications:
At least three years of experience, with significant portion of that time spent building and activating earned media campaigns.
Must have at least two years of relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including research, advertising, management consulting, media and publishing.
Ability to research, interview, write and edit a range of media communications (bios, conference reports, media alerts, pitch emails, post-project recap reports), as well as overarching client & campaign strategy plans.
Experience managing health and product launches, media events, participate in desk-side briefings, corporate communications and executive leadership, etc.
S/he must have a solid grasp of all traditional and new media tools, and be able to recommend a variety of strategies and tactics to his/her internal clients.
Demonstrates a consistent ability to develop, manage and implement strategic media relations and account-specific initiatives across a variety of communications channels.
Preferred Qualifications:
The Senior Media Executive should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and a proven ability to manage multiple medium-sized projects simultaneously.
S/he should be able to develop communications plans, implement public relations tactics and impart knowledge to more junior team members.
S/he should have strong research, writing, editing and client interaction skills, perform well under pressure and be a team player.
