We’re hiring a mid-to-amazing-level Copywriter to produce work on one of our embedded production teams for one of the biggest brands in the world, and in addition, you get to become a Copy Monk.
Role & Responsibilities
- As a Senior Copywriter at Media.Monks, you wield words, wisdom and wit on behalf of top-name clients who seek our Monks for creative production of their digital products, advertising and marketing.
- Based in LA (starting from anywhere as we continue to WFH), you’ll join a dedicated team of Monks who are creating amazing work for one the most beloved brands in the world.
- You’ll craft copy for advertising and marketing the brand, its products, services and initiatives: from taglines and scripts to concepts, digital activations and social campaigns.
- Your job is to secure, shape, and sell the work through copy and other creative means, bringing in new assignments through pitch-winning proposals.
- You will work closely with our internal art directors and designers to flesh out all creative presentations from ideation through to execution, providing multiple versions of copy options for every campaign.
- You’ll look after copy for projects in production—working with clients and colleagues to verbalise ideas, iron out concepts and nail creative issues through words.
- In addition to selling consumers on the brand, your job as a Copy Monk is to ensure that everything makes sense, is consistent and meets client objectives through creative excellence.
Requirements
- For this senior-level role, we’re looking for a Copywriter who can work at a high international level and extremely proficient in the English language with excellent grammar and wordplay.
Secondary languages are a plus!
- Next to English, you can talk tech and advertising and are able to share work that showcases your ability to work for high-end consumer brands.
- Producing quality work out of creative briefs and thin air alike, you’re experienced creating copy-based work with clever lines and insights we can build campaigns around.
- You combine creative and critical thinking; your analytical approach enables you to ask the right questions to waterproof copy from a strategic/conceptual perspective.
- You can capture ideas in copy that’s clear and compelling at the same time: convincing without bullshit, cheesy puns or esoteric language (after all, the cognoscenti have no need for grandiloquence).
- While you might be tired of the word, your skills in storytelling allow you to create scripts for videos ranging from 6 seconds to 6 minutes.
- As a Copywriter, you are the change you want to see in the word: you improve what is said, not just how.
- Your attention to detail is close to annoying: typos, inconsistencies and questionable punctuation marks have little chance getting past your cursor.
- As part of a constructive feedback loop, you can give and handle critique without making it or taking it personally.
- You can present your work like a pro and feel comfortable communicating with clients.
- You can make a case for your copy, rationalising your choices and considerations to win people over with your words.
- You’re comfortable jumping in and out at any stage of a project—from first ideas to final words—delivering solid work, even under tight deadlines.
- You have a great sense of personal responsibility and eagerly go the extra mile if that’s what it takes to make good great.
