We also host a range of educational content, written in plain English that even a six-year-old could understand, with the sole intention of helping you take control of your own money and make better financial decisions.What would you do in this role?Our Foolish Canadian investing team is looking for a person to bring their investing, analytical, and communication chops to make the world smarter, happier, and richer. If you’re passionate about investing and want to study, practice, and refine your investment research skills while supporting our growing membership business, then keep reading.Your primary focus will be to support the monthly recommendations that are made across our three main (front-end) advisory services at Motley Fool Canada: StockAdvisor Canada (all shapes and sizes), Hidden Gems Canada (small caps), and Dividend Investor Canada (obviously dividend focused).These services cover the North American markets and you’ll be rolling up your sleeves and digging into companies from both the Canada and the U.S. but, especially Canada so experience on this front is preferred.But what does this role actually do?? Research and cover existing service recommendations? Source new investment ideas for our premium services? Participate in ongoing idea conversations with the entire Canadian investing team? Write intelligent, accessible content in a Foolish tone for our premium members? Periodically participate in videos, podcasts, and other multimedia events? …and anything else we need to do to bring the best possible Foolish investment advice to our members!What do you need to apply?While we are looking for an investor with some experience under their belt – especially related to the Canadian market, investing is a life-long, learning adventure. Ongoing development alongside the team will be encouraged at everyturn.You don’t have to be Warren Buffett, but we do require at least baseline experience investing in stocks. As for education, an MBA, CFA, PhD … all acronyms. We care much more about passion, skills, and intellectual curiosity than pedigree. Aside from a love of learning, here are a few other desirable characteristics we’d love to see:? Passion for investing Foolishly – studying and understanding great businesses (day traders need not apply)? Ability to communicate complex ideas simply? Independent thinking, deep intellectual curiosity and a willingness to step out on your own? Ability to synthesize financial and business aspects of a company, and prepare an investment thesis? Ability to see the investing forest and the trees? Commitment to getting better at your investing craft? Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of investing, including:? A basic understanding of the competitive forces companies face? A grasp of basic economic and finance principles? Various valuation methodologies? An interest in behavioral psychology?
