Job Summary:
The Senior Instructional Design and Development Specialist will design and create instructional materials grounded in sound educational theory. They will utilize the best practices in technology, while developing multimedia e-learning and/or instructor-led learning solutions. This position will be responsible for applying the fundamental principles of ISD to all learning solutions assigned (i.e., instructor-led training, eLearning, webinars, job aids, reference guides, etc.).
Experience & Knowledge: Required
- Advanced working knowledge of Instructional System Design (i.e., ADDIE, SAM, and/or Agile) and Adult Learning Theory.
- Advanced working expertise developing elearning courses using Articulate Storyline 360 and Camtasia.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
- Experience developing complex interactive scenarios and gamification.
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office Suite products with primary focus on Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- 5 years of experience in instructional design, development of eLearning and instructor-led training solutions in a corporate or educational environment.
- Training evaluation and data analysis experience.
Skills & Abilities: Required
- Strong communication skills effectively using visual, oral, and written forms with a heavy emphasis on interpersonal communication and customer service mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to design and develop engaging and interactive eLearning and other multimedia deliverables.
- Technical writing skills using the Information Mapping methodology and software.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, setting priorities, and demonstrating excellent project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with eLearning team members, SMEs, and other stakeholders to produce engaging and effective training materials.
- Detail oriented, ability to work on several projects simultaneously and committed to excellence.
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time, as needed.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Or Education
- Instructional Design Certification from an accredited institution, and/or InfoMapping Certificate
- Video editing and production experience a plus.
- Knowledge of industry learning standards such as SCORM, AICC and xAPI
Education: Required
- High School Diploma | GED
- Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 4 years
- What percentage of time is accountable for short-term operational goals? 40%
- What percentage of time is accountable for transactional, day to day operational support? 60%
