Look no further, at Universal Studios Hollywood our Business Analytics and Industrial Engineering Team lets you work with departments all across the park by supporting the improvement efforts currently scheduled, and creating new and more efficient methods, allowing you to encounter and experience the whole park with almost no restrictions.

You will have the opportunity to work with Team members of all levels including some of our Senior Vice Presidents.

Providing you the opportunity to demonstrate your projects to all affected teams across the board and also allow you to develop a network with endless possibilities.

This role will deliver real improvements that positively impact the company’s financials and growth.

As a Senior Industrial Engineer you would help solve problems like:

How to improve processes across Universal Studios Hollywood by identifying areas of opportunity, defining scope and methodology, and executing action plans to completion.

You will also help determine the most efficient ways to utilize data, people, machines, materials and information to provide world class service.

How to pull data from numerous sources and leverage Python, Minitab, Tableau and other data techniques to make sense of data, create insights, Formulate and apply advanced analytical approaches such as mathematical optimization, machine learning models, stochastic process methodologies, econometric methods and decision analysis in the development of predictive models to draw conclusions and make recommendations.

Use various IE tools and quantitative methods to impact company’s bottom-line across all business functions.

What will you do?

Develop and execute data collection studies, and obtain data using database query tools in order to perform data mining and data analysis using statistical tools and methodologies.

Formulate and apply advanced analytical approaches such as mathematical optimization, stochastic process models, econometric methods and decision analysis in the development of predictive analytics.

Develop strategies that will drive optimal decision making and lead to incremental operating cash flow and operational improvement.

Trouble shoot forecasting and optimization anomalies through the use of statistical and mathematical optimization models.

Develop testing to explain and or reduce these anomalies.

Facilitate and lead productivity and efficiency related analyses.

Evaluate and improve methods and procedures for the various operational processes.

Develop business cases & presentations to be presented from front line stakeholders to executive leadership.

Lead projects from start to finish, control scope, manage risks and remove obstacles.

Prioritize and problem solve to ensure all projects are completed in an effective and timely manner.

Assist team in determining applicable tools and techniques for projects.

Perform other duties as assigned to role.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio)

• Minimum of 5-7 years of proven experience in a similar fast paced, analytical environment.

• Knowledge of Data Visualization tools Such as Tableau and Power BI

• Strong programming skills, including data-querying (SQL and/or Spark, etc.)

• Experience with a scripting language for data processing and model development such as JMP, Minitab and Python

• Lean
– Six-sigma training and implementation experience
