Senior Hospital Auditor and Trainer

Overview:

Our client, a Medical Center facility under the aegis of a California Public Ivy university and one of the largest health delivery systems in California, seeks an accomplished Senior Hospital Auditor and Trainer.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST

Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • The primary mission of the department is to develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive ethics and compliance strategy and program. This program is designed to ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations, identify and mitigate compliance violations, and promote ethical behavior.
  • Senior Hospital Auditor and Trainer will be responsible for collecting, collating, and analyzing hospital data to identify compliance risks or areas of potential non-compliance.
  • In this role, you will develop audit tools to perform various types of hospital compliance audits.
  • In addition, you will provide coding, billing and other compliance audits as directed and analyze and summarize audit findings in a clear precise manner.
  • Acting as an expert-level liaison for hospital compliance queries conducted thorough accurate research, you will provide training and education to the workforce on hospital compliance issues.

Required Experience: please do not submit anyone without the below experience.

  • 5+ years’ experience in hospital coding, billing, utilization review, compliance, and/or related environment required.
  • Working knowledge of hospital coding and billing principles and practices required, including knowledge of ICD-10-PCS, ICD-10-CM; and CPT diagnostic and procedure codes, and Medicare prospective payment systems (including inpatient, outpatient, and home health).
  • Experience reading, comprehending, and implementing state and federal regulations, payer program memorandum, and other complex, technical and/or legal documents.
  • Experience reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing data in Excel and PowerPoint required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications in RHIA, RHIT or CCS by time of hire is highly desirable.
