Job SummaryAECOM is actively seeking a Senior Environmental Data Management professional for immediate employment within the US.
The position will report to the GIS Mobile Technology & Remote Sensing Manager in the Technology Services department and support both internal and external clients within the Environment business line.
The position will support a wide variety of AECOM projects including environmental permitting, environmental health and safety (EHS), natural disaster recovery, environmental restoration, construction, site assessments, inspections, energy infrastructure development, water resources, transportation, and more.
A successful candidate will work both independently and in close coordination with various AECOM staff, project teams and clients to develop, deploy, support, and administer advanced databases and field applications critical to successful project delivery.
This position will focus on environmental data management using ESRI enterprise geodatabase tools (including Survey 123 and Collector apps for field data collection), the Earthsoft EQuIS platform (including building EQuIS Collect solutions) and development of enterprise SQL databases to custom fit project requirements.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Utilize SQL, ESRI, and Earthsoft EquIS applications and tools to build solutions focused on efficient data capture, storage, and reporting.Server as business analyst leading and collaborating with project managers, project teams, and clients to explore, assess and document projects requirements for data management.Serve as subject matter expert for best practices, data management strategies, and reporting configuration in support of a wide variety of environmental projects.Design, deploy and manage environmental databases requiring complex geospatial and non-geospatial data collections.Lead the development and building of dashboards and sophisticated reports using tools including Power BI/Power Automate, SSRS, Crystal Reports and similar technology stacks.Utilize SQL, MySQL, Azure SQL and similar mainstream DB platforms to build and support both small
– and large-scale databases in support of data capture, analysis and reporting.Utilize single, complex and multi-step SQL queries to manage and streamline routine DB processes and tasks.Define and maintain integrity and quality assurance of project data.Drive innovation with both existing and emerging environmental data management technologies.Market and present environmental data management to internal and external clients.Apply attention to detail with proactive and resourceful problem-solving skills.At AECOM, we’re delivering a better world.We believe infrastructure creates opportunity for everyone.

– driven by a common purpose to deliver a better world.Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Social Science, Chemistry, Geology, Environmental Science, Data Science, or related field.6 years of relevant professional and progressively responsible experience in database management, environmental data systems development, programming, administration, and reporting.Must be a US citizen due to the nature of project work.Preferred QualificationsExperience developing databases using ESRI Enterprise systems and Earthsoft EQuIS solutions.Serve as lead project database developer and effectively interface and support both field collection applications on the front end and dashboard reporting on the backend.Experience working with EDMS (Environmental Data Management Software) and other database management systems.Experience with data management structures and database administration (ex.
SQL, SQLite, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos/SQL, and other relational database structures).Experienced with using Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and other commonly used scripting tools to automate workflows and streamline routine processes and tasks.Experience with one or more of the following: PowerBI; Tableau; ESRI Dashboards; EQuIS Dashboards; or similar software.Familiarity with MS Dataverse and Portals.Experience with Python, SQL, and writing .NET classes to support EQuIS reports.Strong MS Access and Excel skills.Experience with ESRI’s ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcGIS Pro.Experience with other Geospatial software such as GRASS, QGIS, GiNTetc.Some familiarity with laboratory data collection, validation, chain of custody and field sampling methods generally.Comfortable working in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment.Additional Information:Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires employers to provide the following compensation and benefits information for positions that may be performed in Colorado:Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
