Description:Providence is calling a Senior Echo Tech (Full time/Variable shift) to Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.We are seeking a Senior Echo Tech who will be responsible to perform a variety of non-invasive cardio and vascular services: EKG, Treadmills, Echocardiography, Holter Monitor hook-up as well as assuring other technicians are clinically competent and providing necessary training. This position is responsible for identifying Quality Assurance Indicators and reporting up through the Medical Director and PI.In this position you will:• SERVICE:• Promote patient, physician, customer and employee satisfaction by personal example, treating all contacts with respect• Support and participates in activities that foster customer service• Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of patient care/service issues, when appropriate• PEOPLE:• Maintain required applicable licensure, certification and education• Attend and successfully completes general and department orientation, in-service programs and the annual key competencies and mandatory update requirements• Participate actively in department staff meetings• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications• Communicate effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the Populations: Infant, Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric• Coordinate In-Services in current cardiology technologies and training of staff to new technologies, modalities and equipment• Orientation of new staff members with appropriate competencies• Develop indicators and collects data for the assessment of quality and process Improvement. Reports findings to Medical Director, Department Director, P.I. committee and department staff• Prepare patient for all procedures and test by attaching proper equipment. Set-up and operate equipment to monitor and record patient cardiac activities and documents all patient related data• Monitor patient and data, and informs physicians of any abnormalities• Calculate data obtained from testing. Enters data on patient chart• Perform holter monitoring• Record both Real time and M-Mode tracings from various locations using standard Protocol. Work with various dials and manipulates transducer to obtain clearest possible images• Perform treadmill stress test. Assists physicians during resting, exercise and recovery phases• Assist in TEE procedure with cardiologist• Prepare EKG and echocardiograms for interpretation and distribution• Consult with physicians, technical staff and department administrative director to assure the quality, and timeliness of studies performed at both campuses• Attend Cardiology grand rounds and any meetings relevant to cardiology as directed by Administrative director• Participate in the development of departmental technical competencies, Policies and Procedures and technical components of job descriptions• Demonstrate willingness & ability to float to areas within his / her scope of practice as necessaryQualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:• Sufficient for certification/registration• Maintains status as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with ARDMS• Current BLS-HCP• Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire• RDCS Certification (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer)• Basic disrhythmia recognition certification• Experience in the field of cardiology• Experience in echo lab organization• Possess a comprehensive knowledge of clinical practice in the echo lab• Proficiency in Stress Echocardiograms and Transesophagel EchocardiogramsPreferred qualifications for this position include:• 5 years clinical experience in an acute care setting with demonstrated technical expertise• Demonstrated collaboration with cardiology medical staffAbout the hospital you will serve.Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center is a 245-bed not-for-profit medical center that serves the San Fernando Valley, offering high quality specialty services, including: heart and vascular care, orthopedics, oncology and senior services.
