Reporting to the Western Region Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of ABB Symphony distributed control system (DCS) at ABB customer facilities (such as refineries, water systems, power generation units) under general supervision.

This includes performing preventive and corrective maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of proprietary ABB hardware and software, as well as assisting with any projects, upgrades, new installations and advanced services for the technician’s assigned customer or region.

This individual will be required to work independently or as part of a small site team to provide service for customers of ABB distributed control solutions.Your responsibilitiesMaintain ABB’s suite of distributed control system (DCS) hardware and software.

Handle customer questions about the state of the ABB systemHandle customer service related issues while fostering the customer relationship and working to solve technical problems on site.

Deal directly with and communicate effectively with plant operators, plant management, third party vendors and other ABB personnel in support of service operationsTroubleshoot and repair equipment applying own technical knowledge and experience to resolve problems.

Training on ABB products and services will be provided; however, a basic understanding of computer networks, DCS systems (architecture, project engineering and Human Machine Interface (HMI)/graphic creation) is required in order for the training to be beneficialAccurately document the work that is performed at a customer facility and/or project staging area.

Professionally document work completed on periodic preventive maintenance as well as intermittent corrective maintenance tasksWhen required, play an active role in various projects such as upgrades, new installations or new functionality for customers.
