Cost Estimator opportunities on large civil construction projects.
The Sr.
Cost Estimator supports the development of budgets, the design optimization and constructability of the Project in addition to the procurement and administration of the Project’s contracts.
The position is scheduled to start as soon as possible.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrepares independent cost estimates for evaluating and awarding construction contracts and for negotiating the settlement of construction contract change modifications and potential claims.Reviews estimates prepared by consultants and contractors.Prepares cost estimates for analyzing value engineering studies.Assists in constructability reviews.Supports negotiations for settling contract change modifications and potential claims.When duties and responsibilities change and develop, the job description will be reviewed and subject to changes of business necessity.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSRequired ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related fieldMinimum of five (5) years of experience in transit construction cost estimatingExperience in the generation of cost estimates for heavy/civil contractors; transit experience requiredWorking knowledge of widely accepted cost estimating methodologies required by owners, consultants and/or contractorsDemonstrated ability to approach technical issues, identify alternative solutions and solve complex problemsAbility to communicate effectively, orally and in writingDemonstrated proficiency utilizing standard MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to manage the workload including setting priorities and meeting schedules effectivelyDemonstrated ability to coordinate and negotiate agreements with the Client’s contractors and consultantsPreferred ExperienceExperience in generating cost estimates with HCSS HeavyBid software KKCS is an equal opportunity employer encouraging individuals with disabilities and veterans to apply.
