The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Certification Process Engineer (Virtual) to join either location REMOTELY in Seal Beach CA, Huntington Beach CA, Huntsville AL, Mesa AZ, Oklahoma City OK, or Saint Louis MO.

The Senior Certification Process Engineer will be responsible for the development, execution, and leadership of a unified certification strategy and critical actions to integrate certification within the organization and across Product Capability Teams. In this role you will work closely with all facets of the program and certification representatives for both commercial and military aviation to implement, review and refine strategies, plans and define processes and certification artifacts in conjunction with other team members to support product certification. This role is a unique opportunity to introduce and unify certification, design, development, test, and sustainment, to advance Boeing’s capabilities, skills, and people in a DevSecOps environment.

This position requires strong technical leadership experience covering a number of certification engineering disciplines and experience engaging with Program, Division and Enterprise leadership. You will be expected to demonstrate One Boeing in the development, execution, and refinement of the certification strategies in areas such as Systems, Hardware, Software and Modeling & Simulation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads activities to develop, document and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
  • Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system
  • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
  • Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities
  • Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
  • Leads software research and development projects
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
  • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
  • Trains and mentors others
  • Works under consultative direction

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  Ability to obtain interim and/or final Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start).

                                                                                                                                                                                       

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 5+ years of experience with government certifications processes
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering with defining and implementing process
  • 5+ years of experience with DO-178 standards and compliance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience and understanding of configuration status accounting processes
  • Understand complex architectural and networking concepts to enhance business process and service delivery
  • Demonstrate strong problem resolution and process management skills and stakeholder management.

Typical Education/Experience:?
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+8 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $113,900 – $177,100

To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
