This role has the flexibility to function on a remote basis for those outside the region OR corporate Basking Ridge NJ site based.
Summary – The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the analytical support of business solution implementations, system changes, and system operations through the effective use of information technology capabilities that enable the achievement of business operational, tactical, and strategic goals. The Business Systems Analyst collaborates with business subject matter experts and information technology specialists to analyze, define, propose, develop, configure, test, and operate new or enhanced information technology capabilities. The incumbent must work closely with project leadership, business leadership, IT leadership, vendors, and peers to understand the capabilities required to optimize business processes, to assess the current state, define a desired future state, and to develop or contribute to the business and technology artifacts associated with the implementation, change, and operation of business systems.
This position will work under the direction of Global Business Systems Owner or Business Systems Lead and will execute their role while requiring moderate to minimal supervision.
Responsibilities

Project Definition, Planning, and ManagementDevelop or collaborate in the development of a Problem Statements, Business Cases, High-level Project Plans, Project Charters, and Project Proposals to frame each business system opportunity or problem, identify the benefits to be realized, and define the anticipated effort and timeline for each proposed project or significant system change.Assist project leads and project managers in planning projects, establishing work plans, determining the anticipated effort, estimating resource requirements, and identifying required deliverables.Assist project leads and project managers in tracking, communicating, and reporting on project status, as well as developing materials for presenting various aspects of proposed or in-progress projects.

Business System AnalysisLead or collaborate on discovery & concept phase activities including (but not limited to) current state assessments, key stakeholder interviews, surveys, policy & procedural reviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, and use cases.Lead or collaborate on analytical and critical evaluation activities including (but not limited to) to-be process engineering, defintion of process roles and responsibilities, identification of test scenarios & test cases, creation of training plans & training materials, authoring of procedural documents, and work aids for efforts involving the implementation of, or changes to, information technology business systems.Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements.Collaborate with information technology professionals to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying business needs.Identify gaps between system capabilities and business requirements, and map capabilities to requirements to ensure that business needs are met.Coordinate the translation of business and user requirements into test scenarios & test cases, including expected results for user acceptance testing (UAT).Develop and manage the test data required to support user acceptance testing.Assist with the development and execution of change management and training throughout the organization during the Implementation or enhancement of system solutions.

Business System SupportEvaluate system and data change requests and propose solutions to address business needs.Provide and/or collaborate in data stewardship activities to ensure the sustainable data quality required to meet business and/or compliance requirements.Support the identification and facilitation of data quality methodologies and other continuous improvement initiatives.Lead user community groups to discuss challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and other topics related to the effective use of information technology to meet business needs.Lead or participate in system administrative and operational activities including (but not limited to) system and data administration, system user and process training, change control evaluations, procedural reviews, awareness presentations, and issue resolution.

Partnership & CollaborationPartner on projects, system changes, and system support efforts with business subject matter experts and cross functional teams including IT professionals and external partners.Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and information technology team members.
