WHAT YOU’LL DO
Abbott Medical Device is recruiting a Senior Business Systems Analyst to serve as the primary liaison for the Business Relationship Management team to the commercial, marketing or operations business for the CRM (Cardiac Relationship Management) business unit. Secondarily, other site business functions support as required (Quality, Operations, etc.)
This role works directly with sales, sales operations and marketing business partners in multiple sites, locally and globally, and is directly responsible for developing business requirements and a projects business case. Also, participates with project delivery teams to ensure business engagement, readiness and organizational change implementation.
They support general business relationship management, business strategy and planning, portfolio/demand management and roadmap strategy development. Proficiency with business engagement at all levels, including leadership, to elicit needs, determine scope and report on project progress is key to this role’s success.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with business partners and Act as a key interface between the business and IT delivery teams to ensure that business needs are clearly understood, communication between the parties is effective and user expectations are managed.
Understanding the Business
- Understand relevant business processes, customer profiles, products, activities and strategic direction and use this knowledge to:
- Collaborate with the business in identifying their IT priorities and potential solutions
- Identify opportunities for enhancement to deliver concrete business value
- Guide continuous business process, data and technology improvement
- Support User Acceptance Testing and Change Management
- Assist with training and documentation
- Review enhancement submissions and prioritization to ensure that change requests have been correctly specified, justified and prioritized. Where required, liaise with sponsors to clarify information and assisting to resolve possible scheduling/funding issues.
Requirements and System Design:
- Produce high quality business requirements and feed design process to accurately reflect the business case.
- Provide ongoing advice and clarification to delivery team throughout the development and delivery of the solution.
Change Analysis
- Assess the impact of change on existing systems and processes and manage their impact in conjunction with service management teams to ensure change happens in a controlled way, with minimal disruption to business activities.
- Oversee the development and delivery of enhancements by bridging business users and the system development team to ensure:
- Deliverables meet the documented and agreed business requirements and expectations
- Stakeholders are kept informed of progress
- Issues are identified and managed to resolution
- Appropriate system and user acceptance testing are conducted
- Internal and external resources are managed effectively
- Appropriate post-implementation support is provided for users
Value Realization:
- Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs and measures for delivered value. Help manage the change management process, and monitoring progress and results.
Work Management
- Adapts to competing demands, organizational changes and new responsibilities. Manages a variety of tasks and show flexibility to meet timeframes and delivery. Suggests new processes and techniques which will improve the efficiency or effectiveness of the team.
- Develops business relationships and integrates activities with other IT departments and vendors to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts. Manages relationships between partners involved and IT organizations to assure effective communication and work execution between the groups is occurring.
EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business administration or other related discipline
- 7-10 years of IT experience in large or mid-size multinational company
- Must have experience gathering requirements and business process mapping
- Must have experience with at least one of the following domains or technologies:
- SAP, CRM/SFA (salesforce.com), marketing automation (Marketo and/or SFDC Marketing Cloud) and Analytics (Business Objects and/or Power BI)
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of system development life cycles: Waterfall, SCRUM, and Agile
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in pharmaceutical or medical device industry
- Strong customer facing skills, with the ability to translate complicated technical needs for various non-technical audiences
- Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at various levels and build consensus, understanding the different priorities in various teams / departments
- Prior experience working with validated systems would be a plus
- Prior experience managing IT, process or data projects would be a plus
- Ability to think strategically would be a plus
- Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, business administration or other related discipline would be a plus
- Ability to multitask in the role with little supervision and many demands from many constituents
