The Business Solutions department at Aristotle performs implementation and development of technology solutions across all Aristotle affiliates. Preferably based in Los Angeles, working with front office business units such as Portfolio Management, Trading, Portfolio Compliance, and Trade Operations departments, this Senior Business Analyst will be deeply involved with projects, initiatives and work streams designed to implement market best practice standards across Aristotle, with an emphasis on identifying continuous improvement opportunities, process development, and management of cross functional projects.
What You Will Do:
- Manage and coordinate all activities leading to the successful completion of projects including, but not limited to, the gathering of, analysis and documentation of user requirements.
- Coordinates input from, and participation with, various other departments within the company as needed to meet project or initiative objectives.
- Effectively collaborate with internal and external departments, stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and vendors to define requirements, identify opportunities, and present solutions to business challenges.
- Own and drive areas of a project with ability to foresee and understand dependencies, plan for next steps, and being able to multi-task across concurrent deliverables.
- Communicate project status, issues and manage stakeholders’ expectations.
- Document business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Perform and assist with software testing including unit and system level testing. Document test plans, results, issue logs and remediation strategies.
- Write SQL-based database queries to provide data extracts and reports.
- Work on other special projects, as directed by management.
What You Will Need:
- 3-5 years of relevant business analysis experience working within investment management on project management and process improvement.
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
- Experience in “Big 4” type organizations (or comparable), in consulting or audit is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of institutional asset management workflows, specifically equities and FX asset classes, is necessary.
- Experience with fixed income products such High Yield and Bank Loans is considered a plus.
- Track record in business analysis and process improvement.
- Strong project management capabilities of developing detailed plans, coordination with stakeholders across various levels, and being able to communicate at different levels (detailed vs. summary)
- Proven ability to manage tasks with competing priorities and deadlines, while independently driving projects to completion.
- Familiarity with Agile-based SDLC process managed through Jira.
- Experience with Geneva and Charles River application is strongly preferred. Will consider experience in other Trade Order Managements systems such as Bloomberg AIM, Eze Castle etc.
- Knowledge of Project Management tools, tactics, and methodologies; PMI certification (CAPM, PMP) a plus.
