Senior Business Analyst CARE Program Management

Our location in Sylmar, CA, currently has an opportunity for a Senior Finance/Business Analyst for Clinical and Risk Evaluation (CARE). As a Senior Analyst in CARE, Global Regulatory Operations at Abbott Medical Devices, you will have the opportunity to support CARE budgets, monthly accruals, develop metrics to measure performance and efficiency improvements, manage Quality Management System (QMS), ad-hoc analytics, and support procurement processes. A solid financial background is needed. 

There is no relocation with this role, local candidates only.

WHAT YOU’LL DO  

  • Support CARE financial planning, budgeting process, month-end accruals, and metric reporting for Vascular, Structural Heart, Cardiac Rhythm Management, Heart Failure, Electrophysiology, and Neuromodulation. Month-end activities include accrual management, variance analyses, metric tracking, and report preparation.

  • Manage quarterly financial planning Latest Best Estimate (LBE) cycles and the related deliverables.

  • Develop and maintain key performance metrics to track and evaluate department performance,

  • Uses knowledge of software systems/databases/tools to provide support for data/process analysis reporting.

  • Maintain project management system in Excel/PowerSteering.

  • Collaborate with CARE business unit Directors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to increase effectiveness and efficiency of data management and recommend process improvement.

  • Support quarterly QMS metrics, Approved Supplier List (ASL), and supplier audit.

  • Collaborate with Procurement team and external vendors to execute Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA), Master Service Agreement (MSA), Statement of Work (SOW).

  • Create purchase requisitions and obtain necessary documents for Purchasing department to create purchasing orders or check requests.

  • Ensure that financial policies and proper accounting rules are being followed consistently in all areas of responsibility.

  • Perform other ad hoc tasks, analysis, and reporting, as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING  

Required

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting (or equivalent practical experience)

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in financial planning, accruals, data analysis, QMS, and procurement activities

  • Ability to understand key business drivers, communicate financial implications, business impact, and recommendations efficiently

  • Advanced experience with Excel required, including creating Macros/formulas/pivot tables, running metrics, and developing dashboards

Preferred

  • Detail-oriented self-starter who can follow up on and request needed information and manage processes with little oversight

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor with ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and to deliver outstanding results

  • Ability to prioritize and adapt quickly to changing needs

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills

  • Understand Procurement and QMS policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of finance system (SAP and Dodeca) and project management system (PowerSteering)

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.
