The Company employs a custom products business model and supports several customers in the semiconductor test, medical device, aerospace, and electronics industries.
The company has recently completed a merger, becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of a large, privately held, international technology leader and is seeking an energetic business lead to dramatically expand customer engagements and initiate revenue growth with an initial emphasis in semiconductor and RF packaging and integration.
The candidate will work within the Company’s Business Development team and will come with some industry experience in the aforementioned market sector.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a business development position for a candidate with a technical background of 5-7 years of experience who has the desire to move to a customer facing role.
The candidate will own all their customer interactions during the Discovery Phase
– this includes some the following:
– Initial customer contact
– Generate customer profile
– Coordinate NDA
– Present Microfabrica technology and capabilities
– Assess technical feasibility
– Profile business opportunity (volume, timeline, application, etc.)
– Rule opportunities in or out by understanding market cost drivers and customer technical specifications
The candidate will also track and maintain a database of incoming inquiries and will work with their manager to identify potential opportunities.
The candidate’s performance will also be measured on their ability to target and identify opportunities that uniquely fit Microfabrica’s capabilities and/or its potential for growth in packaging and integration, and other related areas.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
– Education in Material Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, or Physics (BS, MS or PhD)
– 5+ years of technical working experience in packaging of semiconductors and RF electronics.
– Strong engineering foundation with exceptional communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
– Ability to use solid modeling tools, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, and ideally, some experience in FEM.
– Able to quickly learn about semiconductor manufacturing techniques and its design rules.
– Location: Either at the company HQ in Van Nuys, or in the San Francisco Bay Area.
