Senior Analyst, Advanced Analytics, B2C

Known is a modern marketing company designed to meet the unprecedented challenges and opportunities faced by companies today.  We have the privilege of working with a diverse set of clients, from the largest and most influential firms in the world to innovative new brands trying to disrupt their categories.

Our Strategy team is at the heart of Known’s mission to bring ground-breaking customer insight, strategic consulting, media planning/buying and creative work to our clients.

We offer generous benefits, including company-paid medical, dental and vision insurance, unlimited time off, vacation and anniversary perks, and a 401k with company matching and no vesting period.

The Quantitative Senior Analyst Role

As a Senior Analyst, you will support projects end-to-end alongside a Research Manager and a supporting Research Director.

You are the key to ensuring that our projects are of the highest quality and are managed professionally.

A key part of your job at Known is also to keep growing and share what you’ve learned with the rest of our team.  We want to always get better at what we do and your hunger to learn more
– and learn differently
– is key to making that happen.

You will be well-supported as you develop as a Senior Analyst, reporting to a Research Director who is first and foremost responsible for your development and to foster a culture of growth and empowerment.  You will also work on a team with Research Managers who can act as mentors and with peers at a similar career stage.

This role is right for you if:

  • Nothing excites you more than learning something new, and bringing that knowledge to bear on a tough and knotty problem.
  • You are thrilled by the feeling of becoming an expert while also uncovering new opportunities for your career.
  • You crave being part of a team that takes on these challenges together and that respects and values the unique perspective that each person brings.
  • You are at a stage in your career where your most important goals center around growth, opportunity, and diversity of experience.

What You Will Do

You are both curious and inspired by the prospect of an analytical marketing role and want your day-to-day work to reflect that.

Here is some of what you will do in your role:

  • Support client engagements end-to-end
    • You will support Managers and Directors in developing the research design, analysis plan, and reporting/storytelling.
    • You will be principally responsible for project management and ensuring that our clients see as professional and reliable.
  • Produce high-quality work
    • You will ensure the highest quality in our design, analysis, and reports/presentations, working with your team to deliver compelling deliverables that tell a real story and go beyond standard data reporting.
  • Learn and grow
    • Seriously
      – always be learning, as this is possibly the most important part of the Senior Analytics role.

Taking full advantage of training and mentorship (technical skills, project management skills, client management skills), learning from colleagues on other teams when you work on cross-team projects, learning something new and bringing those ideas into the team.

Your Background

  • You have 2+ years of quantitative experience at a research firm, consulting agency, or similar company.
  • You have a Bachelor Degree with a major in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or Social Sciences (with analytics/statistics courses).
  • Work experience in consulting on strategic marketing or business problems.

    Specific examples include:

    • Early stage market opportunity assessment
    • Customer segmentation (e.g., using Latent Class Clustering) and needs assessment
    • Feature/needs prioritization to support product development (e.g., using MaxDiff, TURF analysis)
    • Pricing/Packaging/Product Portfolio optimization (e.g., using Conjoint)
    • Path-to-Purchase research
    • Value Proposition development
    • Positioning and Messaging research
    • Brand Tracking and/or Media Tracking research
    • Building Market Simulators, Revenue Forecasts, etc
  • You have superb communication, narrative-building, and presentation skills.
  • You are a strong project manager who stays on top of all the details.
  • You have worked in collaborative environments and enjoy working as part of a team.  Experience in mentoring or managing early-career colleagues in a prior role is a plus.
  • You have at least some experience in a statistical package such as SPSS, SAS, Q; experience in R and Python is a plus.
